Genre: Dancing
The PlayStation 2 release of Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 introduces head-to-head online competitions for the first time in the series. Players can challenge others nationwide, test their skills against a live ranking system of the top 100 players, and download periodically refreshed online challenge missions. The title retains classic features from previous entries while adding substantial depth to its existing modes.
The gameplay expands with tools to choreograph, edit, and create custom dance steps alongside the dedicated Work Out mode for fitness tracking. Full EyeToy Camera support allows players to see themselves on television while using both hands and feet to complete unique, fast-paced mini-games.
The soundtrack packs over 100 minutes of energetic dance music, anchoring its lineup with licensed pop hits like Genie In A Bottle and Oops!...I Did It Again. It also features brand-new, exclusive tracks composed by legendary video game musician Yuzo Koshiro, known for his work on Streets of Rage, Revenge of Shinobi, and Shenmue.
The PS2 camera and compatible dance mat is not required, however it is designed to be used with them to enhance gameplay. The manual is torn on the back.
