Nintendo Virtual Boy was ground breaking at the time. A 3D gaming experience that you could look into the headset at home! Nintendo was very ambitious and even though at the time it was a flop, there are many gamers who are nostalgic about this weird Nintendo console! 

Displaying in black and red and being a bit difficult to play comfortably, doesn't seem to matter to gamers or collectors now. They see what the potential was and most agree it was a shame that the console was discontinued so quickly after launch.
